Conversation, medical history and examination (3D X-ray if needed) – planning comes first, treatment follows. A purely informational conversation without an examination is free of charge; examination and treatment and cost plan are billed according to the GOZ (the German scale of dental fees).
Costs
Before every treatment, you receive a written treatment and cost plan showing your own contribution; patients with statutory and private health insurance are treated equally.

Private Treatments & Costs

Such services are generally billed privately – whether because they are wanted as an individual health service, because higher-value treatment is chosen, or because you are privately insured. We place the greatest importance on communicating openly and comprehensibly about costs from the outset, so that you can make every decision calmly and on a clear basis.
In Germany, private dental services are billed according to the German Dental Fee Schedule (GOZ), supplemented where relevant by the German Medical Fee Schedule (GOÄ). These fee schedules form the legal framework: they set fee items for individual services, which are multiplied by an uplift factor that reflects the level of difficulty and the effort involved in the specific treatment. This allows for calculation that is individual, yet still comprehensible. For patients with statutory health insurance, what matters is whether a service is part of standard insurance cover or chosen as an additional private service; for privately insured patients, reimbursement depends on the relevant insurance tariff.
Before any plannable treatment involving costs begins, we provide you with a clear treatment and cost plan or cost estimate. This sets out the planned services and the expected costs, so that you know what to expect. If you have statutory health insurance, you submit the plan to your health insurer before treatment begins; if you are privately insured, it is advisable to check with your insurer to clarify the scope of reimbursement. This avoids surprises and lets you decide, at your own pace, which treatment is right for you.
